The South Loop trail begins at the parking lot next to the Lighthouse Community Centre in Qualicum Bay. Signs from the Island Hwy will direct you there. The trail is flat, wide and completely wheelchair accessible with some informational signage along the way. Enjoy the Coastal Douglas fir forest as the trail takes you over bogs, streams and creeks. There are a number of benches along the way to relax and enjoy nature. Everything was dried up during my visit today, yet the forest still looks lush and green. At the end of the trail, walkers and bikers can loop back through adjacent community woodlot trails and Crown Forest which is not wheelchair accessible.
