Witchcraft Lake Regional Trail crosses the lake, runs along the lake for short stretch, then up a steep trail up Mt Benson through City land, the Crown woodlot to Mount Benson Regional Park. This trail was developed to provide public access to Mount Benson Regional Park as there is no public road access.
If climbing is not your thing, there is flat trail in the forest that runs around most of the lake, offering beautiful views of the lake and Mt Benson back drop. There are many trails veering off the main trail heading up the mountain. On either end of the flat trail that runs along the lake, you can connect to other trails via old logging/access roads.
I heard a lot of rustling in the trees on today’s hike. Mini bear, cougar, mouse? I don’t know. Something was following me.
