This forested park is located on Holden Lake, just south of Nanaimo in Cedar. Roughly 11km of easy and wide walking trails weave around the park, through the forest, along the lake and across the marsh.
The lake is a quiet and peaceful spot for anglers and paddlers. The marsh area is popular with bird watchers and ornithologists. Ornithology — the branch of science devoted to birds. Ornithologists study every aspect of birds, including bird songs, flight patterns, physical appearance, and migration patterns. Birds are genetically related to dinosaurs, which is something else an ornithologist might study. (credit)
