Trail access is across the highway from Commbs Country Candy Store (bonus!) just before Port Alberni (coming from the East). I could smell the sugar from the parking lot.
This is a short, pretty walk and hard to believe you’re just 10 min away from the highway.
The “hole in the wall” was blasted through a wall of volcanic shale* for the city’s main water reservoir. It hasn’t been used since the mid-60s. History and Geology! Now it’s just a little waterfall through a hole. And who doesn’t love waterfalls?
